A candidate who understands how Norfolk works — and what it takes to make it work better.
Noel Haydt has spent his career at the intersection of business, technology, infrastructure, and community leadership. He is not a career politician — he is an operator. Someone who has built businesses, managed projects, balanced budgets, and worked through the practical realities of getting things done.
Over more than two decades in technology infrastructure and operations, Noel developed a reputation for solving problems, modernizing systems, and focusing on measurable results rather than bureaucracy and delays.
As a Norfolk County Councillor representing Ward 1, Noel became known for asking difficult questions, pushing for accountability, and challenging assumptions around spending, infrastructure planning, and operational efficiency.
His experience as Chair of the Long Point Region Conservation Authority provided hands-on leadership experience in regional governance, watershed management, environmental stewardship, infrastructure planning, budgeting, and multi-stakeholder decision making.
As a business owner and real estate investor, Noel understands firsthand the challenges residents, farmers, and local businesses face when dealing with rising costs, red tape, delays, and uncertain economic conditions.
Noel is running for Mayor because he believes Norfolk County has enormous untapped potential — but only if local government focuses on execution, responsible growth, infrastructure delivery, and modernized services that actually work for residents.
A record built on service, leadership, and results
Elected by fellow municipal representatives to serve as Chair of the Long Point Region Conservation Authority (LPRCA) , Noel Haydt helped oversee regional watershed management, conservation policy, environmental stewardship, infrastructure planning, and multi-municipal governance across the Long Point region.
During his tenure, LPRCA highlighted major achievements including the restoration of the Dereham Wetlands and 15 additional wetland areas, expanded educational programming at Backus Heritage Conservation Area, and significant capital upgrades to conservation properties and parks throughout the region.
Under the board’s leadership, the organization also maintained balanced operations without drawing from reserves for a second consecutive year — reflecting a strong focus on responsible financial management and operational sustainability.
